BHARATHI TAMIL ACADEMY
Bharathi Tamil Academy (BTA) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization teaching Tamil in the Redmond, Washington area. BTA was started with a mission to teach Tamil language and its culture to the diaspora Tamil children living in the Redmond vicinity. BTA was started in 2018 with 60 students and now in its third year has around 120 students. BTA is a 100% volunteer run organization. BTA does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in its administration of its services and programs.
BTA is affiliated to American Tamil Academy (ATA) and uses its syllabus and testing materials. BTA offers 9 levels, Mazhalai (age 4) to Level 8 (age 13). In addition, BTA also offers an enriched curriculum with lot of fun activities and cultural programs to keep the curious minds engaged. During a pandemic, BTA has adopted e-learning for all grade levels and classes are conducted virtually over Microsoft Teams.
It is with great excitement that we announce our return to in-person learning for the 2023 - 24 academic year at Redmond High School starting 9/17.
BTA is administered by its Board which takes fiduciary responsibility of the organization and assembles the Executive Committee (EC) which takes care of school operations for the academic year.
